Gombe State Ready to Shine at the 22nd National Sports Festival

The Gombe State Government has given its official nod for athletes to participate in the upcoming 22nd National Sports Festival, also known as the Gateway Games. The event is set to take place in Ogun State from May 16 to 30, 2025. The approval was granted by His Excellency, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.  Governor Yahaya's approval underscores his administration's commitment to youth empowerment and sports development. Since taking office in 2019, the Governor has consistently supported state athletes in national competitions. Notably, he facilitated Gombe's participation in the 2020 edition in Benin and the 2022 edition in Asaba. According to Mr. Saleh Manga, Director of Sports in the Ministry, Gombe State will field over 72 athletes competing in 12 sporting events. These include athletics/para athletics, boxing, karate, taekwondo, judo, table tennis, badminton, cycling, weightlifting, gymnastics, and cricket. State League One Grouping: Landa Boys in Group

The Gombe State Football Association (FA) has officially announced the groupings for the highly anticipated 2025 State League One season.  In a bid to ensure a successful campaign, the FA is teaming up with the State League Forum to organize a refresher course for all League One coaches. Although the kickoff date has yet to be determined, fans are eagerly awaiting the start of the season. This year's competition promises to be thrilling, with 65 clubs set to participate.   Last year's champions, Landa Boys, have been placed in group D, setting the stage for a potentially thrilling title defense.
