Breaking: Finidi George Steps Down as Super Eagles Coach

In a shocking turn of events, former Ajax winger Finidi George has resigned as the head coach of the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles. This development comes after the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) decided to appoint a foreign coach to oversee him, despite his recent appointment in May.

George, who took the reins in February after Jose Peseiro's contract ended, had a disappointing stint with the team, losing to South Africa and Benin in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The NFF's decision to bring in a foreign coach also means George's handpicked assistants will be replaced by new staff. The former coach expressed his frustration with the lack of support from the NFF and questioned the commitment of Nigeria's top players in the crucial World Cup qualifiers.

This development marks a significant change in the Super Eagles' coaching staff, and fans are eagerly waiting to see who will take the reins next.
