LOCAL FOOTBALL GETS A BOOST FROM SENATOR YARO'S SUPPORT

In a move that's set to boost the football scene in Gombe State, Senator Anthony Siyako Yaro has made a generous donation to three local football clubs, Balanga United, United Eagles, and El-Shama Sporting. The cash injection will aid the clubs' participation in the Nationwide League, Division Two.


The senator's representative, Mr. Barbuwa Kalla, presented the donation on Saturday, emphasizing Senator Yaro's commitment to empowering youths and inclusive representation. The support aims to help young athletes in the district realize their potential through sports.

Balanga United's Welfare Director, Mr. Hashim Ismail, praised Senator Yaro for the timely financial relief, which alleviates longstanding challenges faced by the club. Gombe State Football Association Chairman, Yakubu Sarma, commended the senator's dedication to youth and football development, urging other stakeholders to follow his lead.

With this support, young talents will get the chance to shine, and clubs will be spared from relegation due to financial constraints.

The Gombe State Government has given its official nod for athletes to participate in the upcoming 22nd National Sports Festival, also known as the Gateway Games. The event is set to take place in Ogun State from May 16 to 30, 2025.   Nigeria’s number one Teqball player Victor Oyemade will participate in the 2nd Teqball World Series of 2024 slated to be held from the 6th – 9th June 2024 at Quy Nhơn, Vietnam. The Osun state-born Athlete who has represented Kwara State since the introduction of Teqball in Nigeria is currently Nigeria’s top-ranked Teqball Athlete as at the last time Nigerian Athletes were ranked by the International Federation of Teqball (FITEQ). Teqball World Championship Qualifier - Abia 2024 Gets New Date

  The Nigerian Teqball World Championship Qualifier, initially scheduled to be held from July 17th to 20th, 2024, has been rescheduled to July 10th to 13th, 2024. This announcement was made by the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee and Vice President of the Nigeria Teqball Federation, Mr. Ndudi Edede, on Friday, June 14th, 2024. "In compliance with the International Federation of Teqball (FITEQ) specifications, this rescheduling has become necessary. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused and apologize for any disruption to participants preparations" The decision to reschedule the championship ensures alignment with FITEQ's requirements. All tickets and registrations will be honored for the new dates, and participants and attendees are requested to update their calendars accordingly.
